The company says that Swift apps are significantly faster than Objective-C apps, outperforming them by over 93x.Wow. That is some programming language...
I am a full-time consultant and provide services related to the design, implementation and deployment of mathematical programming, optimization and data-science applications. I also teach courses and workshops. Usually I cannot blog about projects I am doing, but there are many technical notes I'd like to share. Not in the least so I have an easy way to search and find them again myself. You can reach me at erwin@amsterdamoptimization.com.

The journalist apparently drew this conclusion himself based on a slide where it says "RC4 encryption; python 1x (benchmark), objective C 127x, Swift 220x". Discussion is at http://programmers.stackexchange.com/questions/242816/how-can-swift-be-so-much-faster-than-objective-c-in-these-comparisons and at http://www.infoworld.com/t/development-tools/apples-swift-not-so-swift-after-all-244120
