In some recent projects I used some JavaScript code. Not sure how useful this is in practice, but here is a neat trick to write and call JavaScript code inside a CMD file: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/joshpoley/archive/2008/01/15/running-jscript-in-a-cmd-file.aspx.
